The new Saucydates.com goes live

Could this be the best free adult dating site you’ve ever had? Almost 5 years after the launch of saucydates.com there is a brand new version for everyone to enjoy.

The old site was functional but didn’t have a friendly user interface; it was too dark in appearance and all the buttons and menus where very small. Even though it was far from ground breaking it did attract 200,000 members and reached the #1 spot in Google for the search “Free adult dating”.

The new version is a radical change. The user interface is large enough to be used with ease on an iphone or other similar devices; it also looks amazing on an ipad and of course works flawlessly on any computer or laptop. The interface has a very simple concept of if you can click it, it’s pink, if not it’s grey.

The search system has been improved and works at the same time as viewing a profile. This enables you to search and message members at the same time. We have also carried over the canned messages concept to protect you from scammers who will always have a presence on any free site. We could charge $5 to join and that would stop them but we know that many genuine members would complain.

Security has been a major focus for this new version. We have developed a unique Trust system. This gives you an indication of how genuine another member really is. If someone files a report then you can see when and why. Our systems also monitor activity and look for patterns that are typical to scammers; this will also reduce a Trust score. When a member reaches 0 they are automatically deleted. We hope you will agree this is a very important feature and makes the site better for everyone. In addition we may be the first of a select few dating sites that has encrypted URLS, this sounds a bit technical but it’s very similar to an online bank. This makes it very difficult for scammers to write scripts and message other members on mass.

Our picture policy has also changed during the redesign and some of you will have seen this in the old site. We decided to only accept pictures of faces for two core reasons. The first is a legal reason. If you display images of naked people you need to have a record compliance policy, which would require every member to prove their age via a copy of their passport or other official documentation. Of course this would be impractical and any site you may have used in the past that allows naked images is in danger of being shut down. Your naked images therefore may end up as evidence in a court case which is not the exposure you are really looking for. The second core reason is the new design has a focus on being female friendly.

The male to female ratio for adult dating is typically 30 to 1. This makes it very easy for a female to get a date and quite the opposite for a male. By making the site female friendly we hope to improve over the industry average. A female member will not be exposed to naked member images as mentioned before and combined with canned messages improves things further. We have also segregated the sponsors adverts, this means that members get to choose adverts that suit them, so again females will not be exposed to hard core adverts (unless they want to). Of course you’re not that interested in the adverts so I will not go into detail of how it works other than mentioning that adverts are critical to providing a 100% free service to you.

We have also updated the gender options. We had many couples looking for a person for a private threesome. However, with no couple option these members defined themselves as female. Now there is a setting just for couples which should make it much simpler to get a date set up. We also dropped the transgender option as it just wasn’t popular to have it’s own section.

This new version of Saucydates also introduces a store. Over the coming months the store will offer a more personal service, matching products to your own interests.

We have also developed a Saucy Survey. This is a quick list of questions to gauge how sexually adventurous you are. Your answers are not shown but your total score is. Another new feature is the “my list” page. This is like a 1 way friend request. Add people you like to your list and then it makes it simple to keep track of them. In the old version members had problems with setting their city, the user interface for this as been improved significantly but just in case there is now a manual entry mode, you can enter your own latitude and longitude location to let everyone know where you are. In the next minor release we also plan to add city suggestions. So if you cannot find your city it will make a suggestion based on other member’s attempts.

We have also gone social. Saucydates now has a blog (which you are reading now), a Facebook fan page and Twitter account. In the past we did hide our contact details quite well but no longer. The site has a clear feedback form and you are encouraged to contact us or use our social media channels to let us know what you think.
